Apple’s ready to celebrate 5th anniversary of app store

Apple Inc. is ready to celebrate 5th anniversary of its app store that was launched in 2008 with over 500 apps in the start. The launch of app store was done with the release of the second-generation iPhone, or the iPhone 3G.

Apple is planning to go green for Reno, Nevada data center

Apple Inc. is reportedly building 18-20 megawatt solar farm for its Reno, Nevada data center making it one of the greener technological centers in the world, according to GigaOm. This solar farm would cover an area of 137 acre.
According to GigaOm, the company will use a different type of technology than the Apple's two arrays in North Carolina. The company is including mirrors in the technology that would increase the concentration of sun’s rays by up to seven times thereby increasing the amount of energy generation. Moreover, the company will also provide energy to the local grid.
SunPower, Solar energy solution providing company will work on the array's engineering and construction but until the completion of these farms Apple will utilize geothermal energy generated by local plants.

Apple has sued another patent violation on Samsung

Apple has reported in federal court in California that Samsung Electronics is violating four patents of Apple including unlocking of the phone by image presentation and searching through voice command.


"We continue to assert our intellectual property rights and defend against Apple's claims to ensure our continued innovation and growth in the mobile communications business," Samsung said in a statement.


Apple and Samsung are fighting with each other in the field of patents in 10 different countries on 20 different features.


The new case in U.S. District Court, Northern District of California, is Apple Inc v. Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, et a 12-00630.

iPad 3's resolution display

iPad-3's resolution display will be a most remarkable feature among the Apple products. Apple wants it to be Retina Display-like resolution.
Retina Display-like resolution refers to a diaplay in which "pixel density is so high your eye is unable to distinguish individual pixels."
iPad-3's resolution of 264 pixels per inch (PPI) display is going to be a challenge for the manufacturers.

Siri Chief leaves Apple Inc.

Co-Founder and CEO of Siri, Personal Assistant, Dag Kittlaus, leaves the company.
Kittlaus worked as CEO of Siri since 2007 and before that he was an entrepreneur at the Stanford Research Institute and also worked for Motorola. Apple Inc. purchased Siri in April 2010 with Dag Kittlaus as the co-founder and CEO of the company.

Apple financial results 2011 shows all time record sales of iPad and Macs

Apple has announced the financial outcomes for 3rd calender quarter and 4th fiscal quarter of the year 2011 along with all year's financial results.
Apple has gotten $28.27 billion in Q4 revenue. Net quarterly profit margins to $6.62 billion. It has gotten $7.05 on diluted share.
Company has sold 17.1 million iPhones, 11.12 million iPads and 6.6 million iPods in Q4.
