Autism detection in the early stages

Researchers have recently published in the American Journal of Psychiatry that the infants whose siblings are autistic have certain brain changes. Researchers have found these brain changes with the help of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).

Researchers have worked on 92 infants in the age range of 6 months to 24 months.

From SayPeople,

According to researchers, tracking the changes which occurred in the brain can help in the earlier screening of autism and its intervention, which can lead to better developmental results.
Previously, scientists studied the brain changes in babies as young as 1 year old. This is the first study to detect brain changes in as young as 6 months old. Moreover, this research has strongly showed that the disorder has firm genetic and biological root.
