Radiation after surgery is not always helpful for lung cancer

Researchers have published in the journal Cancer, a peer reviewed journal of the American Cancer Society, that radiation after surgery is not always helpful in the treatment of lung cancer and increasing the survival of patients.

Researchers worked on more than 1300 patients in the years of 1992-2005. They worked on older patients with locally advanced lung cancer. Researchers have found that 710 patients received radiation after surgery but the radiation didn't work well to prolong life.

According to researchers, the physicians must have to use radiation treatment with appropriate knowledge.
