Disability in old age can be reduced by drinking green tea

Researchers from Japan have found that older people, who drank at least 5 cups per day are one third less prone to disability than those who drank one cup per day.

Researchers wrote,
"Green tea consumption is significantly associated with a lower risk of incident functional disability, even after adjustment for possible confounding factors."

This research has been published online in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

From SayPeople,

This study needs further investigation as the people who were found active may be due to healthier diets such as fish, vegetables, and fruit, which can be the cause of their enhanced activity. Moreover, they had also lowered smoking rates, reduced heart attacks and strokes and better mental sharpness. They were also more active socially and have more friends and family to rely on.
