Mozilla has announced two smartphones; the ZTE Open and
Alcatel One Touch Fire, on Monday. These phones have Mozilla’s operating system,
i.e. Firefox OS. These phones will soon be available through Telefonica and
Deutsche Telekom.
Mozilla’s Firefox OS is HTML-based, open-source mobile user-friendly
alternative to Android.
“The ZTE Open Firefox OS device launches tomorrow in Spain
costing €69 incl €30 balance for prepay customers,” Telefonica has reported in
a tweet.
“Mozilla said that the first Firefox OS will launch in
Central and Eastern Europe under the wing of Norway-based Telenor "this
year."” Stan Shroeder of Mashable
reported.
As for specifications, ZTE Open is a 3.5-inch smartphone
with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 256MB of RAM, a 3.2-megapixel camera,
Bluetooth, A-GPS and Wi-Fi.
Alcatel One Touch Fire has nearly similar specs, but it has
a Qualcomm processor.
