In the recent hit of rumors on the gridlines present in Google Earth representing the ancient city of Atlantis, Google Earth has made upgradations.
Google has reported that the gridlines in the map on the floor of ocean were the result of overlaying data sets from the sonar data.
The updates by Google have been done after a lot of hard work. Google upgraded the application with new seafloor data from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at
the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and
other groups.
